I HAVE MOVED MY BLOG

Yes, it is true - from now on, everything I write can be found at the new blog HERE. I hope you will come and visit me there, as I personally feel that it is a great deal better than the old one. Let me know what you think! (in a comment at the new blog, perhaps? ;) I haven't yet decided what to do with this blog, but I'll leave it as it is for now. Hope to see you at my new blog!

Help! Dearest readers, help!

A little sneak peak...
Yes, m'dears, I've got some major blog-changes coming up (which means that I might be a little slow on posting for a short while). You see, I'm changing over to wordpress, but I want to make the new blog really, really great before I make it public. And for this, dearest readers, I need your help:

What do YOU wish to find in a fashion blog?
                  Tutorials?       Trend reports?
      Celebrities?                     Outfit-pictures?
Designers?   Models?                    Tips about Personal Style?
Brands?                       Eco-friendly fashion?
    Tips for better fashion-blogging?             Hair&Makeup?
                                 ... or something completely different?

I would truly appreciate it if you took a few seconds to give me a little feedback in a commentary :) It will be for your benefit as well, as I am determined to make the new blog more organized, more inspirational and more fun to read! So, while you guys ponder the meaning of a great fashion blog, I'll go and learn CSS... while I ponder, too.

Twittering Madness

Yes, I must confess that I've joined Twitter too - click HERE to follow me! And if there are any other fashionable twitterers (well, you simply can't find "a person who uses Twitter" in the dictionary, so bear with me on the made-up word) out there, I'll be more than happy to follow you :) Just leave your adress in a comment so I can find you... I'm still a real amateur at this thing!

Bik Bok

Yesterday, Bik Bok, a Norwegian label and chain of stores, has just released their campaign photos for s/s 09... and the photos are GORGEOUS! By a stroke of brilliancy Bik Bok decided to use three fashion bloggers from Norway and Sweden as models; Maja Casablanca of Polkadots and Vodkashots, Karoline Anderson of Fashion Flash, and Carolina Engman of Fashion Squad. I am quite green with envy when I tell you that these three lucky (lucky!) bloggers were flewn to Miami, where they were shot by the very talented Isabel Watson. Before I show you the pictures, I'll just say that I love the colours and the general mood of these shots, and think the girls look fantastically good! And since they remind me so much of the movie The Virgin Suicides, I've included a little iPod for you with parts of the soundtrack, just to make the mood complete ;) Enjoy!

My Darling Readers!

I am crazily busy with papers and concerts and pneumonia and things, but I thought I'd slip you a little treat, written by yours truly, performed by Sordid Affair and recorded live a mere two days ago at a concert. I promise to write a proper (fashion-related) post ASAP, but in the meantime - let me know what you think!

Going Red?

Lily Cole

About a year ago I decided to start saving for long hair again, after having had short hair for the best of three years. I've been such a good girl that my hair now reaches about 10 cm/4 inches below my shoulders, and can handle most updos and "long" hairstyles.

Kirsten Dunst

But all this saving is making me a little bored, and lately I've been toying with the idea of going red. I haven't been a redhead since I was about fifteen, when it was almost boyishly (is that even a word?) short and in a shade of red that wasn't particularly great for me.

Imogen Heap

This time I am dreaming of something quite fiery, with subtle different shades of red - and definitely none of those purple reds for me, thank you! I've been googling like crazy to find some inspiring photos of redheads, and thought I'd show you some of my favourites.

Nicole Kidman

The only problem with red - no wait, there are lots of dangers about red. Firstly, it can go oh, so very wrong. We all know that colouring our hair can be risky, since home colouring never ends up looking like the picture on the box, and even the hair dressers can give no guarantee about the result.

Rose McGowan

Second, it tends to get quite pricey, especially if you're having it done at the hairdresser's, since red fades quickly. The third problem, which is kind of connected to the second, is that coloured red hair should be washed with shampoo for coloured hair, which has always made my hair look limp and dull.

Drew Barrymore

And fourth - can I actually pull it off? I'm so "dark" in my eyebrows, eyes and skintone that when I was in Italy in January, people thought I was Italian and talked to me for several seconds before they realized that I didn't understand a word. It was the same in Spain last summer - which reminds me that I tend to get tanned rather quickly, which wouldn't look very good with I'm-trying-to-make-it-look-like-I'm-a-natural-redhead-hair... though this might not be a problem after all, since I live in a place where the sun (when she even bothers to show her face) is more like a prop than an actual sun.

Coco Rocha

What are your thoughts on red hair, dear readers? Do you have any Going Red-Experiences you can share with me? I am very much on the verge of picking up the phone and calling the hairdresser, but then I see pictures like this (see under) and start doubting again... Hair like that should be illegal.

This Week In Sound And Pictures

Around christmas my sister introduced me to this fantastic band called The Kooks, and lately I've been listening to them a lot. Particularly this song, "She Moves In Her Own Way", is a guarantee to drown out the sound of my pessimism - or the sleet that's currently slamming into my window, for that matter:

It also makes tidying a whole lot more pleasant, which ended up with me finally looking through all my books and deciding which ones will have to live in a cardboard box in the scary storage space:

I threw away tradition and decided to store all my jewelry in the top drawer of my desk. I use them far more than the stapler anyway, so this makes perfect sense:

I kept the necklaces hanging behind the door, though, since they turn into a big, messy knot if I store them lying down:

I've been wanting a black tulip skirt for a long time now. Two days ago, ten minutes before I had to leave for class, I decided to chop off the top half of an old Gina Tricot dress, and I love how it turned out!

I've also ordered a lot of sequins in different colours from Panduro, which I indend to use to make something fabulous for a concert with my band, Sordid Affair, next Saturday.

And finally, I spent most of yesterday in the studio at school, recording a couple of songs with my other band (which hasn't got a name yet). Whereas Sordid Affair is my precious baby, this last band is the one that might earn me some money quite fast, since we play calm pop-ish coversongs that work well at a bar or at weddings and other social events. Sordid Affair is a little more... demanding, I guess you could say. Have a go and listen, I'm sure you'll understand what I mean ;)

What I want...

... for this summer is one of those playsuits/jumpsuits that all the magazines are showing off nowadays - preferably one in a rather bold colour, like purple or azure blue, though a black or grey one might become a how-did-I-manage-without-you-item. I don't care that it's such a fashionable item that every other girl will wear them, and we will probably all tire of them before autumn. A comfortable, though stylish piece of clothing that can be worn all by itself? Yes, please!

(and yes, polyvore is a lovely activity for keeping the mind alive when one has pneumonia. I am sure you will excuse me, especially when I tell you that the medicine isn't working and I'll have to see a lung specialist. Ugh.)
